Over $60,000 granted in latest round of Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust funding.
The Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust has granted a total of $62,900 to 45 recipients in the November 2019, distribution of community funding. Major recipients include the Cancer Society and Otago Community Hospice through to Community Kindergartens, sport and recreation organisations, performing arts and volunteer service groups.
“The Cancer Society was thrilled to be the major recipient of the Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust receiving $5,000 at their community funding presentation last night. The funds will assist our Supportive Care programme to help reduce the impact of cancer for so many of our loved ones in the community.” Jonet Warhurst, Cancer Society Marketing & Fundraising Manager.
The Dunedin Casinos Charitable Trust invites applications for grants from charitable organisations in the Dunedin and greater Otago region twice a year. The purpose of the trust is to assist in fulfilling aspects including the relief of poverty, advancement of education, religion, sport for the benefit of the wider community, or any other charitable purpose deemed beneficial to the community.
