View All News
We had a pretty awesome day full of amazing poker plays and some quality chat, almost 9 hours of poker and a 6.6K prizepool. We got to 22 players today, using up three poker tables to start the day.
1st Prize: $2725
2nd Prize: $1695
We had a pretty decent turn out for the freezeout today, with 22 players, we got to use our three tables!
Totalling to almost nine hours straight of poker, our final 5 were Aaron, Glenn, Geoff, Corey and Ged.
Aarons Demise came after Glenn had raised UTG with A-10 suited, Aaron then goes all in with A-9 and Corey shoves over the top with Q-Q. Glenn open folds his hand and they flip their cards. The flop comes K-3-K, turn 10 and the river was a 6. Corey's pocket Queens hold up and Aaron is out on the bubble.
We had a pretty noisy reaction to a hand between bubble and fourth place! Glenn raises pre flop with K-Q and Geoff shoves with K-10. The flop then comes Q in the window (Glenn thinks he's good)... J-9, turned a 6 and rivers an 8. Geoff winning with a straight and definitely creating some noise at the poker table.
The first out to get paid tonight was Glenn. In the small blind, Corey shoves with 8-5 (Handsome guy who had the Queens earlier), Glenn in the big blind calls on his short stack, with A-4. The board comes, 2-8-9-8-5, giving Corey the boat and knocking out Glenn, who takes home $605.
In third place, we had Geoff, who was short stacked. Geoff shoves with 8-5 and gets two callers. Corey and Ged both call with an 8 in their hands, Corey with Q-8 and Ged with 8-2. The flop comes A-10-Q, giving Corey a pair. Turned a 2 and rivers an 8. Which gives both Ged and Corey two pair, but Corey wins with his Queens. Geoff leaves us in third place with $1030.
Into the big money now, and the boys both shoved pre flop. Corey with 9-3 and Ged had J-5, the board comes 7-5-3-Q-K, giving Ged the pair of 5s and taking out the win for this months deepstack. Corey technically came second, but they had decided to chop the pot before the hand.
Honourable mention this month goes to Kirby, who even though she went out in sixth place, she managed to get a straight flush to the King.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made today happen. Don't forget about the WWPT and we will see you next time!
GL, mean Good Luck.
